I'd first like to say, thank you for letting me into this group! I love looking at posts for suggestions and getting tips for stuff. There has now come a time where i need some advice for myself. I am looking into updating my rig. Currently I have a korg SV1 and a Korg CX3 mark 2. I also have mainstage 3 which I use to run most things now. I have now rendered my SV1 unusable. I find that the sounds aren't as good as most modern stuff out there and there aren't any split or layering options. I have various gigs that I play around with. I play a lot at church's where it is all mostly piano based with synth and song specific patches thrown in. I also play lots of jazz. So a keyboard with a really good AP Andy rhodes are super important. I play a lot of blues so that's where my organ comes in. On top of all of that, I am in a pop pop that we play everything from superset ways to 24K magic by Bruno mars. The urgency came from me getting a musical gig. After playing through the first rehearsal I realized my SV1 doesn't have the range I need it to. A full 88 would be key in playing the gig. I have already created the entire musical patch list in mainstage, but I need an 88. So I have a couple options. For pop gigs: I would like a piano based 88 on bottom, and a 61 workstation on top For blues gigs, I would like a piano based 88 on bottom and my CX3 on top. For jazz: the 88 piano based keyboard would be fine. For worship: I would like a keyboard that could do all the meat and potato sounds and be really easy to work with mainstage. But I need it to have pianos, and Rhodes, as well as really good strings, and a deep warm Pad. Another problem with that is I need everything to be versatile. For worship I want to be able to mix sounds in and add stuff into mix really easily. The big thing that will be a little weird is, I don't like the Nord stage 2. Not at ally the gain structure of the different instruments is off and the pianos are thin. The synth is tough to work around and the organ has all mids and no real crunch or bite to the sound. My options that I have thought about are Bottom: yamaha S90XS top: korg Kronos 61 Bottom: korg Kronos 88 Top: Yamaha MOXF8 Bottom: Kawai MP7 top: korg Kronos 61 Another thing is that if I'm going to a church gathering or something I don't want to lug around a huge Kronos 88😂😂😂. So for my bottom keyboard I really wanted it to be pretty small like a Yamaha CP4. Around that footprint. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome!!! I am blessed to be part of this forum as there are really talented cats in here! Thank you guys for all your help.
